Some of you wonder why there’s this crazy Chinese woman in the store with me all the time. Most of you already know she’s my wife. What you may not know is that we first met online, many many years ago. We hadn’t used any matchmaking services back then, it was just a case of one thing leading to another. She was in Singapore (not China) but some of her relatives from the states were going to be passing through Yarmouth, so she was looking online for information, found my website, and emailed me to ask a few questions. We wrote back and forth in emails for a while, eventually using ICQ and later MSN Messenger when that came out. Six years ago she came to Canada and has been stuck here ever since.

These days however it’s even easier to meet people online, using services such as FriendFinder. Creating a free account takes less than 10 minutes and then you can be browsing for other single people in your city, or anywhere in the world. The site is easy to navigate and even the basic standard account allows you to see a picture of the people who match your serach results.

Even if you’re not looking for that someone special, you may just find some new life-long friends who have similar interests. And the best part? You don’t even have to leave the comfort of your own home!
