Zodiac & The Number 23

187 words eaten alive on July 27, 2007 - Filed Under DVD, Entertainment -

This weeks movies start off with The Zodiac, I’ve only watched half of it so far as it’s about two and a half hours long. It’s based on a true story of a serial killer who started his killing in 1969 and as far as I know he has never been caught. It’s very possible that he’s died by now and never will be caught. After most of his killings he would call the police himself, and would also send encoded messages to newspapers claiming that if they can crack the code, it contains his identity.

Next up is The Number 23, a psychological thriller starring Jim Carrey in a very different role from what he normally plays. The story is about a man who finds a book called The Number 23 and as he reads it he finds there are many similarities between the book and his life. Like the books character he becomes obsessed with the number 23 and starts finding it everywhere in his life. No thriller would be complete without the surprise twist at the ending, and this movie definitely delivers on the surprise.
