NBC Gets Greedy?

It seems that NBC wants their content pulled from Apple’s iTunes webstore because they want Apple to raise the prices and Apple wants to keep them where they are.  If things don’t get sorted out by December, we will no longer be able to download shows like The Office, Heroes and Battlestar Galactica.  It would seem to me that raising the prices even by $1 would make the average show more expensive than it’s worth to a consumer.  At the current price of $1.99 per episode, a show like Heroes with 23 episodes would cost a whopping $46 USD.  I can go out now and buy it on DVD for $51 CDN.

A price raise to $2.99 or even $2.49 would just make it too expensive to bother.  I’m sure I’m not alone in thinking that I’d rather wait and buy the physical DVD box set and save money in the process.  Hopefully NBC will smarten up during the next couple of months and Apple will stand firm on their pricing structure.
