Municipality to Tax Payers – Screw you!

In a meeting this morning the Councilors of the Municipality of Yarmouth have decided to go ahead with plans to build the new MoY building in Hebron.  This is despite the fact that it has angered many tax payers.  Out of all the information I’ve read on the subject, I’ve only seen one letter in support of a new building, and that was from the wife of one of the employees who will be working in said building.

One of the arguments against renovating the existing building was “Most of our schools are full of mould, they are unsafe buildings and when you renovate them you get a new looking building with a lot of the same problems.”  So, he openly admits that our children are in unsafe buildings for 10 months of the year, yet they would rather blow $4 million on a new building for 13 people.  Complete with a gym, daycare, terrace and a fancy geo-thermo heating system.  Nice.  Very nice.
