A cool new search engine, Winzy, has just caught my attention. You can win stuff just by doing the same searching you do everyday on other search engines! Create an account and start searching, it’s as easy as that. Each search you perform earns you 1 point for the first 30 searches you do a day. The daily limit is to discourage people from cheating the system by using cheats that just search over and over. If you add the Winzy search to your Firefox toolbar you will be upgraded to Gold status and then earn 2 points per search on the first 50 searches a day.
Along with earning points on all searches, you can also win instant prizes such as iPods, game systems, gift certificates and more. Granted, most of the little prizes you win are just bonus points, but at the end of each month all your points are turned into ticket entries for the grand prize of up to $100,000 so the more points you have the better your chances are of winning!Don’t throw out your old search engine just yet though, while Winzy is pretty good, some parts of it still need work. I did an image search for “Mr. Brooks DVD” this morning but none of the images it gave me were what I was looking for. I used old faithfuls image search and the top responses were the Mr. Brooks DVD cover that I wanted.
