Unfair Banking Fees (UK)
120 words eaten alive on November 2, 2007 - Filed Under Business, News -
This could be a bit of good news for those living, or at least banking, in the UK. Court action has been filed against several banks, claiming unfair bank charges, particularly when it comes to bounced checks and overdraft charges. Even though the bank charges you a very large fee for these ‘transactions’, it really costs the bank only a fraction of that amount. The purpose of this lawsuit is to help clients reclaim bank charges which were unfairly withdrawn from their accounts. They are not sure how long the process will take, but proceedings are expected to start early next year. Credit cards and department store charge cards will not be affected by this ruling.
