Barbara Walters recently did a special on Living to 150 where she interviewed Dr. David Sinclair. Sinclair has been doing human gene research for some time now, particularly the ones to do with aging. He believes that aging is primarily a series of diseases and as such, they can be slowed down or even cured. During his research he stumbled upon resveratrol, something which is present in red wine, although to get the full benefits you’d have to drink 1000 bottles a day. I guess now we know why they say red wine is good for you, but that amount is a little extreme.
Further testing in lab mice has shown that resveratrol does in fact extend life expectancy and prevents the onset of heart disease, diabetes and other age related diseases. The exact same gene is present in humans which is a very good indicator that it will have the same effect on us as it does on mice. While Sinclair is still in the testing phases with his anti-aging, healing drugs, resveratrol capsules and micronized resveratrol powders are available to purchase from RevGenetics. There’s a lot of interesting information to check out at the myrevgenetics website. We may not be able to live forever, but it looks like we’re at least one step closer.
