Expensive Inhalers : Gator Byte

A couple years ago my doctor switched my asthma medication, at the time I was still on Ventolin but when he heard I was generally using it once or twice a day he said that’s too much. Ventolin can cause your throat passages to remain constricted after prolonged usage. It’s hard enough to breathe as it is, I wouldn’t want to risk making things even worse.

Luckily since this is Canada we don’t need any special medical insurance although having some sort of drug plan would surely help out. Of the two new inhalers I have to use, one isn’t too bad as it only costs around $20. The other one, the steroid based one, rings in at around $85. If I was using it twice a day as it says I should, it would only last 2 months. As it is I tend to only use it once a day so I can stretch it out to last 3 or 4 months before needing to plunk down half a paycheck on a fresh batch.
