Fish Food

Chloe’s getting to the age where she really wants a pet. A doggy, a hamster, a fish, it doesn’t really matter to her. She knows cats are out of the question, and when told that if we get a doggy she’ll have to pick up the poop from the lawn she changed her mind about that. I think the easiest would be a fish though although the cheapest would probably be a hamster.
For a fish you need to get a decent sized tank, a filter system, rocks, underwater buildings and stuff. The tank needs to be cleaned once in a while unless you invest in a really good filter system. Fish food isn’t such a problem though, lots of places online sell a variety of good stuff such as http://www.aquariumguys.com/fish-food.html. Getting the right food is important and varies depending on which type of fish you get. They’re rather sensitive creatures from what I understand, feed them the wrong stuff and they die. Feed them too much and they die. Feed them too little and they die. Then comes the fun part of explaining to a 4 year old why her fish is belly up. Maybe we’ll put it off a little longer ;)

Chris the best fish for little kids are Bettas, they need no filters, or huge tanks, and they are very cheap and easy to take care of. They sell really nice ones at Wal*mart.
As for the hamster bit, they need a cage, shavings, food, etc. and don’t live to long, plus havign to clean the cage is another chore LOL
