Back in the Hospital

Things were going fine for Jan during the last week, up until around 1am Wednesday morning. It started with stomach cramps and feeling like a lot of gas buildup. Then a half hour later she started vomiting and that continued all night, every 15 minutes or so. I took her to hospital around 6:45 and she’s been there since. So far they don’t know what’s wrong but they suspect some kind of bowel blockage, which apparently is one of the possible risks from the surgery. Strange though, she had been having regular movements during the whole week. Another possibility they’re considering is the gall bladder. She’ll be having a cat scan done sometime this morning since the xray’s done yesterday didn’t find the problem.

Poor jan. Could it be all the gas inside her? I googled it and found an interesting report -http://www.greenjournal.org/cgi/content/abstract/111/2/495. I hope the doctors will be able to pinpoint the source soon. Get well soon, Jan.
Not likely.
She ended up back in the OR and the surgeon found an adhesion or two and a minor hernia that were likely causing the problems. Today she didn’t have that pain anymore so it looks like everything is good now. Should be home in a day or two.
i hope everything’s okay now. hope she gets well soon. and great on you for being such a lovely husband.
