Goodbye Bluehost, You Suck

I’ve been saying this off and on for a while now, I know, but with all the downtime recently I’ve finally had it with Bluehost and have begun backing up my lesser used domains to get them ready to move to a new web hosting provider. I’m looking at a few options based on recommendations from fellow bloggers and one of those is Network Solutions.

They provide a good overall web hosting package starting at just $9.96 a month. The only stumbling block for us is that you only get 25 SQL databases for that price and we’re currently using around 40. That bumps me up into the $17.96 a month bracket, more than double what I’m currently paying. Now I don’t mind paying a little more if my web hosting company is going to be reliable and actually deliver on the 99.9% uptime promise, but after being bitten by current host I’m a little leery on choosing any shared host at all.

I’m sure that not all shared hosting is bad of course, just bad luck on my part whether it’s just a bad box or a bad support team. The people I know who are using Network Solutions are happy with the service and say that when minor problems arise they are dealt with quickly and effectively.
