Guitar Hero World Tour

The latest rendition of the Guitar Hero series has finally arrived and honestly it feels like an unpolished turd compared to Rock Band 2. It’s got some good songs though, and has tied up some bands in exclusivity deals so that they won’t appear in any other music games. Van Halen and the Eagles being the 2 that come to mind at the moment.
The interface is very clunky and is probably the biggest downfall to the whole game. I typically play Rock Band on expert and Guitar Hero on hard, so far though I’ve had no trouble getting 5 stars on the first dozen or so songs that I’ve tried on hard so I may jump up to expert early and see how that fares.
My biggest beef so far is actually with one of the new features. A series of notes will be connected by a thin purple line and for those notes you don’t need to strum, you just need to press the fret buttons at the right time. It’s like doing hammer on/pull offs without needing to strum to start it. The problem is that I play on a rear projection TV, which looks great if you’re at the proper viewing height (sitting on the couch for example) but, I play standing up so the screen appears a little darker than it should and makes that purple line almost impossible to see. Would be nice if you could change the color.
