Dell Laptops Prefer Dell Parts

I had purchased a used XPS a while back but it’s power adapter was dead. Dell charges $106 + tax for the proper replacement, so in an attempt to save some money I ordered one on eBay. The product description said it would support this particular model and it was only around $30 shipped, so I figured why not.
2 weeks later it shows up, and while it does let me turn the power on, it doesn’t detect as a proper 130w supply. So, I’m out of luck on that one and will probably have to just order the original Dell. I guess when you buy a Ferrari you shouldn’t skimp on Ferrari parts and if you can’t test a generic product to make sure it works with your device, it’s best to not buy it.
