Worst Part of the Job

I think the worst part of this job is when I end up having to spend half a day in court because someone sold me a stolen item and I then get called in as a witness. So far it’s only happened twice in 9 years, so I guess it’s not too bad, but not time #3 is coming up. I just got served a Subpoena to appear in court on the 17th, next Monday, to serve as witness to the prosecution in a break & enter case. The problem is, I’ve checked my records and I never dealt with the accused during that time period. I’ve never heard that he committed a B&E and no one ever came to take a statement or confiscate stolen goods. No one has contacted me this week either to let me know what’s going on, so I’m going in completely blind. This should be fun.
