Coke Zero’s Dance Hero

Ok I don’t watch a lot of TV these days and that became quite apparent today when I heard about this free Dance Hero game from iCoke. It’s a pretty basic online game with only 2 contestants, 2 songs and 3 stages to choose from. The contestants are new Coke Zero mascots, a tongue and an eyeball. Uhm yeah, this ought to be interesting.

I fired up the game and chose the tongue (the eyeball makes some of those fruity Michael Jackson sounds). I skipped the instruction page so for the first 20 seconds or so I had no idea what I was supposed to be doing. Once I realized that all you have to do is click on the numbers in order as they appear I started racking up some points. Sometimes the numbers appear on a curved line though and I have no idea what that’s for, so I ended up losing my first match and got laser beamed by the eyeball as a finishing move.

My second match went much better as I realized that the Coke bottles you pick up fill a mojo meter, hit the space bar to get double points for a while. The curving lines, you simply need to keep the cursor on the circle as much as possible and you get more points when it reaches the end. I won the second match and finished off the eyeball with an Onion Sombrero. My score? 28,000 and change. The top score on the leader board? 3.3 million. That’s crazy, must be some more tricks I don’t know about.

I’m not really sure what the point of this game is, but it’s available for everyone to play for free and you can challenge your friends to see who can get the best score and unlock the coolest super moves. Check it out if you have some time to kill, I’m not sure if there’s any prizes to be won outside of Canada, but it’s a funny little time waster at least.
