Insane Virus Infection

I just finished cleaning out a badly infected hard drive, the final count for infected files? 32,914. Yeah, that definitely takes the cake as the worse infection I’ve ever had to deal with. I don’t know what they were doing with that computer, but part of the problem is that they were attempting to pirate their copy of AVG. The crack was infected, of course, as was nearly everything in their LimeWire and Ares directories.
Aside from the fact that it’s illegal to crack software, it’s just plain stupid to try and crack an anti-virus program. Here’s a piece of software that connects to it’s home server on a daily (sometimes hourly) basis to get the new virus information. Do you really think that the software maker isn’t going to know you are using a cracked version?
