Shoplifters are at it Again

A few weeks back I noticed an empty spot on a shelf, after a few minutes I realized what was missing and took a look at the inventory list in the computer. Sure enough that item was supposedly still in stock. Great, more shoplifters! I spent the afternoon rearranging the security cameras to make sure that area was covered and put something else in the empty spot as bait. So far no one’s taken it, so it looks like a one shot thief, not a returning offender. We’ve thought about using those wireless alarm sensors like the big stores do, but after checking into it, a Sensormatic system would cost upwards of 10 grand. I’d rather lose a $30 item now and then than have to come up with that kind of money to keep things ‘safe’.
