Along with the hockey cards I also ordered a box of Scourgewar cards from the World of Warcraft trading card game. It’s similar to Magic: the Gathering but I haven’t had a chance to play it so far. The big draw for these cards are the loot cards that you can find in the packs. Loot cards that can be redeemed for items that your in-game WoW characters can use, some of which can be worth as much as $1000 on eBay. I was shocked to see the Spectral Tiger selling for such a high price, and even now several months later I still see auctions going for big money. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to get my hands on the set that gives you a chance at the Tiger, but Scourgewar does have a Spectral Kitten which is selling in the $200 range. Other cards of note from this set are Army of the Dead, Chimera Shot, Detonate Soul, and the dreaded Pimples on Scalp card. Actually I’m kidding about that last one, but I think it would make a good joke card if they ever put out a weird expansion like M:TG’s Unglued set. Scourgewar packs sell for $4.98 each + HST.
